Grandma Gable’s Sweet Potatoes

My grandma always made these instead of a traditional sweet potato casserole. It’s a family favorite and now the most requested dish by my in-laws every year.

Ingredients

2-3 sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced

2 apples, sliced

1 cup crushed Ritz crackers

1 stick butter, melted

1/3 cup brown sugar

Instructions

Mix brown sugar and cracker crumbs.

Grease the casserole dish.

Put some of the crumb mixture on the bottom of your casserole dish.

Layer in apples and sweet potatoes, placing the remaining crumb mixture on top.

Pour melted butter over everything!

Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 300 degrees, until potatoes and apples are soft and easily pierced with a knife. Enjoy!
