About the Position

At Harvie, the Logistics Manager ensures our fresh, locally sourced ingredients reach our members’ tables smoothly and on schedule. This role involves planning and coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries, meeting budget goals, supervising transportation staff, and collaborating with department leaders to streamline logistics. By making sure every product moves efficiently from independent farms to the families we serve, the Logistics Manager supports our mission of strengthening connections through food—one timely, thoughtfully delivered meal at a time.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inbound and outbound transportation of product
  • Develop new strategies to increase revenue, streamline processes and reduce cost
  • Ensure that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met
  • Perform metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements
  • Manage and develop transportation staff including Harvie’s delivery driver fleet
  • Partner and communicate with manufacturers, producers, and customers
  • Create and manage budgets
  • Assesses the need for new team members, engages in the hiring process, and creates an effective training plan for new hires

About You:

  • Natural leader with ability to guide and mentor team towards department goals
  • Clear and concise communication style
  • Advanced budgeting and calculation skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple moving pieces simultaneously
  • Flexible and willing to pivot towards software driven optimization solutions
  • Willing to become CDL certified and hop in the trucks when needed

Important Details:

  • Full-time position
  • Competitive starting salary range from $55 – $60k

About Us

Harvie (www.eatharvie.com) is a local foods home delivery service based in Lawrenceville. Founded in 2020 with a mission to make it as simple as possible for families to have access to local foods, Harvie Farms is a farm share model that emphasizes customization and convenience.

About the Position

We are looking for motivated and self-sufficient individuals who want to work in a start-up food hub environment as Delivery Driver. As such, you’ll drive a Harvie-branded vehicle, delivering up to 80 boxes of produce, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, meat, flowers, and other locally made products to the greater Pittsburgh area.

You will be the face of Harvie as you step onto members’ porches and make their days with the box of goodies you’ve come to bring. We expect you to represent Harvie’s culture and values with every interaction you have along your route.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute up to 80 home deliveries a day, keeping to a consistent pace
  • Operate as a brand ambassador and align with Harvie’s culture and values when interacting with members and non members on delivery routes
  • Use integrated technology to guide and track delivery routes in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide detailed feedback to your team to help improve overall route performance
  • Work closely with the Member Relations team to problem solve day-of delivery issues, relaying pertinent information as you go
  • Occasional material pickups and storage management
  • When you’re not on the road, you’ll be available to help create customized farm shares for customers in our Pittsburgh warehouse space

Important details:

  • Full-time position
  • Competitive pay starting at $21/hour

  • Expect to work 4-5 days a week between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm
  • Routes are between 6 and 9 hours long
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a valid PA driver’s license
  • Must be able to move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
