Hello all! Welcome to week 16!
Wow, what a couple of weeks we have had. I am sure you all will agree that we will NEVER take advantage of clean, fresh air to breathe, and for some of you, a home to still be able to live in. The rain was a welcome sight, but in 2020 style it came in with a literal bang! We were grateful to have moisture, but the combo of ash and rain became a sticky coating on everything. Everything got a little extra cleaning this week.
The cooler days were also a sign that fall is coming and looking forward to a change in crop varieties, although we are crossing our fingers for one last summer surprise in the future. We started harvesting our winter squash from our OSU dry farm trial plot. Yes, some winter squash varieties do very well in a dry farm scenario. Our tomato trials have done amazing this year and so we have learned some key things over last years trial. We look forward to continuing working with OSU in the coming years.
We hope you all are well and safe and really appreciate everyone's flexibility and understanding over the last couple weeks! Hoping to get back to some normalcy....well, 2020 normalcy at least.
