The autumn beauties are in bloom. It is a nice transition from the bright yellow sunflowers you see throughout summer time. The days are becoming shorter, once we would start with the sun at 5:30am and now we are laying in bed a little bit longer.
I wanted to also take a second to thank every member that has shared what they are doing with their shares. I love to hear about the creative ways our produce is being used! Especially when I learn new ways to use things. I have one member that used lambs quarters as a cooked green tossed with cannelloni beans. It looked amazing. And then there was the roasted spoon tomatoes with lunchbox peppers and onions; they used this to top off everything for the week from salads to chicken. Pickled Okra is on the to-do list along with out first batch of chipotle peppers. I'll keep you posted on that one.
