On Wednesday of this past week my mother, Susan Poodry, celebrated her 80th(!) birthday. This newsletter is dedicated to her and all her wonderful glory. I love you mom!
Reflecting on what it means to become an octogenarian, I find myself in awe of the expanse of life. 80 years is an impressive achievement and her years are filled with stories and experiences that make her a truly remarkable woman. As a mother of 4 children she was always loving but stern. She did her best to bring us up smart and respectful. When we gathered for her birthday celebration, I couldn't help but be proud of her and how she had helped shape my siblings and I in to the people we are today. I know her impact on me has been profound.
While I could wax poetic about the intricacies of my upbringing and the many ways that I find her amazing, I will digress and leave you with this; As a mama's boy, I will perpetually look to her for guidance and wisdom, for she is my Mom and I love her and no amount of time or space will ever change that.
Cheers to 80 more years, Mama.
Eat well and enjoy.
