Pictured this week celery. One of my favorite things we are harvesting right now!
We are moving into our July rhythm. There is lots of weeding and cultivating this time of year to keep the weeds under control. Every day we have a large harvest list as many crops are starting to get ready. July is a great month!
Few storage tips for you this week...
Bunched carrots are one of the options for your boxes. These are young, tender carrots that come with the greens still attached. When you get your box home remove the tops and store them seperate from the carrots. If left attached the greens will take the moisture out of the carrots. The tops can be added to salads or used to make pesto. The baby carrots have very skin thins, so there is no need to peel!
Same idea with your candy onions. The onions store much better with out the greens. Remove the greens and store seperatly.
Make sure you keep your onions, carrots & greens in a bag or container in the fridge.
Have a great week!
