Anyone else LOVE the sunshine this week?! January was a cloudy month and to see the sun 5 days in a row was amazing The warm temps and sunshine made it feel like spring and made us feel like should be out working in the fields. We took a walk around the fields on Sunday and dreamed about planting and when the fields will be full of crops again.
We have a lot of new CSA friends this week! If you are new to the program make sure you join the CSA facebook page for weekly videos and share what you are cooking with other members. Also, if you are unsure about how to navigate around the Harvie site here is the FAQ page that will show you all of the awesome things that are available to members on the site. If you have questions about anything please let me know.
Straw was spread on the strawberries this past week. The straw makes a nice clean bed for the berries. They continue to dig out all of the ditches. The unusually wet season the last couple of years has been hard and we have lost too many crops. We are determined to not let that happen again! Leeks and onions were seeded in the greenhouse this week. Hot peppers are up next week.
That is all for now! Have a great week!
