Farm Happenings for May 26th & 28th, 2020

Posted on May 20th, 2020 by Mattie Serna

Greetings Farm Fans -

Thank you all for your patience with us this week as we worked through the first delivery of our Summer Season.  Fortunately, there were only a few hiccups and some slight growing pains as we welcomed in new subscribers and got acclimated to our new software platform.

A few notes about these challenges: After sending out our first email, we became aware that some of our bi-weekly subscribers did not have their egg and produce shares synced for same day pickup.  Our HARVIE partners synced up these deliveries - generally pushing the egg shares backwards or forwards to match up with the produce box schedule.  22 subscribers were affected.  We are sorry for the confusion, but are confident that in the long run this will make everyone happier!

Delivery locations are still in flux as certain sites have been affected by COVID related closures.  Moving forward - we have put a hold on deliveries to: Renown Reno, Washoe County School District, and Churchill County Library.  If you are a subscriber who picks up at the library, your box will be available at Lattin Farms.  For Renown Reno and Washoe County School District subscribers, please let us know which alternate pickup location you prefer.

We are starting to see some exciting new varieties of produce - like Red Leaf Amaranth from Salisha's Delicious!  We are nearing the end of the asparagus season, but green garlic is still going strong!  Also - we are working to lock in relationships with some new farmer partners like Desert Farming Initiative at the University of Nevada, Reno.  So we are excited about adding their harvest into our boxes!

Thank you for your support of Nevada Farmers!
