Hi everyone! It was such a joy getting food to you all this past week! We're excited to do it all again this week. Some of our favorites like garlic scapes and kale are making their debuts this week. And a quick note on fruit shares this week - we are sourcing strawberries from Agriberry down near Charlottesville this week. They use integrated pest management practices and grow a whole lot of fruit! Fruit share folks will be getting quarts of strawberries this week, but in the future just know that we'll usually be offering pints. But do enjoy the bounty for now! We might also have extras to purchase as add-ons, so check back on Harvie on Saturday and Sunday. We made another video for you guys this week - thanks to all who let us know it wasn't working! The kinks should be worked out now and it'll be ready for you tomorrow.
Farm Happenings for June 3, 2020
About the farm
Good Dog Farm is a 25-acre vegetable farm in Upperco, Maryland. We are a Certified Naturally Grown farm and use beyond organic growing practices. By farming with the health of our land and customers as our guide, we ensure you the highest quality and safest produce. We use sustainable growing practices to protect our soil and waterways. We supply our customers in the Baltimore and DC regions with delicious, nutritious food that’s always fresh.
We founded the farm in June of 2016. We grow vegetables year-round thanks to our two high tunnels. Our farm provides a diversity of crops for our Community Supported Agriculture program plus wholesale quantities of unique varieties of storage crops like potatoes, winter squash and sweet potatoes.
Our name comes from our shared love of our three dogs, who remind us to live simply and have fun every day.
