The weather this week has been glorious! We're almost wrapped up with our sweet potato harvest, and we started cleaning up our winter squash field. We harvested lots of turnips and daikon radishes to keep for sale this winter. We're swimming in greens and eating our way through them. We hope you are feeling similarly greens hungry. And a reminder that the Summer Fruit Share has ended. If you'd like to continue getting apples each week, you can sign up for a Fall Apple Share, though I've heard from a few people that they've had trouble signing up. I'm adding apples as an extra this week if you'd like to add them to your box for now.
Farm Happenings for October 14, 2020
About the farm
Good Dog Farm is a 25-acre vegetable farm in Upperco, Maryland. We are a Certified Naturally Grown farm and use beyond organic growing practices. By farming with the health of our land and customers as our guide, we ensure you the highest quality and safest produce. We use sustainable growing practices to protect our soil and waterways. We supply our customers in the Baltimore and DC regions with delicious, nutritious food that’s always fresh.
We founded the farm in June of 2016. We grow vegetables year-round thanks to our two high tunnels. Our farm provides a diversity of crops for our Community Supported Agriculture program plus wholesale quantities of unique varieties of storage crops like potatoes, winter squash and sweet potatoes.
Our name comes from our shared love of our three dogs, who remind us to live simply and have fun every day.
