This week was all about clean up and break down. And emotional and mental breakdown due to the election? Anyway...we cleaned up a lot of crops from the summer by pulling up stakes and plastic mulch. We also disassembled our existing high tunnels so that we can move them over to the new farm. Reconstruction will start in a couple of weeks. Don't forget that it's our Early Bird CSA special right now, so signing up before 11/16 gets you a 5% discount and a tote bag! Stay tuned for more fun stuff in the newsletter this week.
Farm Happenings for November 11, 2020
About the farm
Good Dog Farm is a 25-acre vegetable farm in Upperco, Maryland. We are a Certified Naturally Grown farm and use beyond organic growing practices. By farming with the health of our land and customers as our guide, we ensure you the highest quality and safest produce. We use sustainable growing practices to protect our soil and waterways. We supply our customers in the Baltimore and DC regions with delicious, nutritious food that’s always fresh.
We founded the farm in June of 2016. We grow vegetables year-round thanks to our two high tunnels. Our farm provides a diversity of crops for our Community Supported Agriculture program plus wholesale quantities of unique varieties of storage crops like potatoes, winter squash and sweet potatoes.
Our name comes from our shared love of our three dogs, who remind us to live simply and have fun every day.
