What a reprieve. We're breathing a sigh of relief, and I'm very excited to see our fall crops jump into action over the next week after this glorious rain. I think we're all going to sleep a little better knowing that it'll be a while before we have to haul pipe and pumps around again....
We got so many of our end of summer and fall transplants planted and acres of cover crop in before this rain on Friday, now all these plants will drink and grow and thrive, joy.

This is the time of year where I find it exceedingly difficult to focus on the now. The earlier evenings and colder mornings, and built up exhaustion of the summer make me want to curl up with some spreadsheets, all my thoughts for what went well and poorly this year, and plan plan plan like there is no tomorrow for next year. It's tough to resist that urge, as their is still so so much to be done for this summer and the fall. We're starting to wind down on transplanting, and thus the greenhouse is starting to empty out and is about to get prepped for winter squash harvest. We're still spending lots of time in the tomatoes, still trying to keep up with the weeds, still hauling lots of buckets, still lots of boxes to pack. Our minds are always a season ahead while farming and this time of year, especially this year with all it's exceptional challenges, it's really hard to not get pulled into the future.

Our Autumn shares are designed to highlight vegetables that are at their peak in the fall. Crunchy leafy greens, winter squash, freshly harvested potatoes, frost sweetened broccoli, and more! Items in each share mostly have a longer storage life than the perishable fruit of summer, so you can expect a share to last you through two weeks of local eating.
Just like in the summer, you can add eggs, cheese, yogurt and more to your shares at sign-up or weekly as available.
