I hope you have recovered from your turkey somber and are ready to get back on track to your regular healthy eating. If your Thanksgiving was like mine, you over-ate because you just couldn't help but get a second helping of that wonderful dish that Aunt Beth made.
The important thing about Thanksgiving is getting together with friends and family over a meal. Mine was fantastic, as usual. We had 30 of us at my daughter's house.
This Thanksgiving was different from others in that we had something else to be thankful for:
Our newest grandchild: Broderick Arthur King. This rounds us out at 10 grandchildren. Are we blessed or what?
This Week in the High Tunnels/Storage
The arugula is so tender you can eat it without chewing. And the spring mix is not far off that too. We still have a good supply of lettuces, albeit double covered for protection from the frigit temperatures of the last two nights. The fall squashes and apples continue to get sweeter the longer they are in storage. I am making plans for apple sauce this week to put in jars. I like to use yellow delicious because it comes out a little lumpy.
