This week's veggie pick up will be Wednesday, December 23rd from 3pm-6pm. Due to the early pickup, the customization period will end on Tuesday at 4pm instead of Wednesday! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before we close to allow yourself time to gather your veggies. If you need an alternate pickup time this week, please email me at farmer@homefields.org. I will be more than happy to accommodate your needs!
FARM UPDATE: Well, we have good news and bad news. Bad news first: the snow made it impossible to harvest some things we had planned for this week. This won't impact veggie shares but it doesn't leave us much variety for selling additional boxes. If you'd like to add extra veggies to this week's share for gifting you are welcome to do so. We have lots of butternuts, carrots, sweet potatoes and garlic and smaller amounts of plenty of other items. And like I mentioned last week, we have gift certificates for next season's CSA for sale on our website.
Now the good news: We're going to offer a complimentary bonus week sometime in January. We still have kohlrabi, beets, lettuce, radicchio, gilfeather turnips, daikon radishes and arugula tucked in under the snow and are eager to get them to you when we can. You'll receive an email about this so keep an eye on your inbox!
EXTRAS TO ADD TO YOUR SHARE: This week Stephanie is offering Whole Grain Croissants as the bread option. Don't let the "whole grain" scare you. She gave me a sample to try, and it was all the buttery deliciousness you would expect a croissant to be. They come in a 4 pack. She is also offering a dozen potato rolls for purchase as an extra, perfect for your holiday meal. These are the same rolls she featured the week of Thanksgiving. The bread share comes with croissants, but if you'd prefer potato rolls instead, just email me at farmer@homefields.org. We also still have mushrooms available to add as an extra.
Thank you so much for joining us on this chilly winter veggie adventure! I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We are looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Your farmers,
Katie, Elizabeth, Brad, Brian, Christina, Kelly, Angie and Matt (and lots of awesome volunteers!)
