Hello!
We're excited for our first harvest of the season! We have been working hard to bring you the best local veggies in a safe and responsible way. If you didn't receive our Welcome email with the Food and Hygiene Safety Practices and the Farm Guide, please let me know. I can be reached at farmer@homefields.org. If you are new to the farm, don't worry! We will have extra staff available this weekend to guide you through your first pick up.
PICK UP HOURS: Pick up hours this week, and every week, are Thursday 3pm-7pm, Friday 11am-7pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Despite what day you chose when signing up for your share, you are welcome to come during any of our open hours. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing to give yourself time to gather your veggies.
FARM UPDATE: The strawberries are starting to ripen and they are ripening fast! Strawberries are a pick your own item, but due to the low amounts at the very beginning of the season, we'll be picking them this week and they will most likely go to our shareholders with large shares. But don't worry! Delicious berries for everyone are right around the corner.
We are a little short on what we felt comfortable predicting this week, so you may notice an item listed as $3 credit on your veggie slip. If we find we have extras when we harvest Thursday morning, these items will be available for you to choose from when you come to pick up. If we are still short, Susan will be collecting slips back so we can add this credit to your account for you to use in a future week.
CUSTOMIZING YOUR SHARE: We are very excited about the customization features of the CSA management system we use. However, at the beginning of the season, these tools aren't very effective because of the low amount of veggie options available. As more crops mature we hope you'll take advantage of the swap tools to create the perfect share for your family. Stay tuned for more info on customization, including a video tutorial!
ADD ON SHARES: Please note that if you signed up for an add-on share those items are automatically added to your order. You don't need to choose or swap them. If you didn't sign up for an add on share, we do have eggs, mushrooms, juice and coffee available to purchase as one-time "extras".
