PICK UP HOURS: Pickup hours this week and every week are Thursday 3pm-7pm, Friday 11am-7pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Despite what day you chose when signing up for your share, you are welcome to come during any of our open hours. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing to give yourself time to gather your veggies. If you aren't able to make it during our normal pickup hours, please email Katie at farmer@homefields.org and she can arrange for you to pick up on Monday.
FARM UPDATE: We harvested a lot more watermelons than we thought we would last week! Hopefully they were a pleasant surprise in your shares. We planted 3 successions of melons this year, so there will be plenty coming in the next month or so. The early greenhouse peppers are producing a lot of big, gorgeous fruit and the field peppers are not far behind. We're just seeing the first big eggplants, and the tomatoes are ripening fast.
We're using the One Item Credits in some shares again this week since we're unsure how many eggplants, tomatoes and watermelons we'll be harvesting. Hopefully we won't need to use these credits for much longer, but it did seem to work well last week.
EXTRAS: This week Stephanie is making ciabatta bread and pitas. These can be purchased as extras when customizing your share. We also have eggs and mushrooms available as extras.
