This weeks feature photo was taken during the spreading of straw mulch over a bed of young pickling cucumbers. Where and whenever possible mulch is spread over planted areas to control weeds, hold moisture, and to preserve and maintain a healthy population of microbial life in the soil. Simple truth is healthy soils produce healthy food.

About the farm
20 acre vegetable farm located in northern Ozaukee county serving local community members through our CSA program, online webstore, and to local area restaurants. Although our farm is not "certified organic" all techniques and the materials we use are in compliance with USDA's NOP (National Organic Program).
