While we still have crops in tunnels and lots to do around the farm, this time of year is the time when we need to start assessing what went well and what we want to improve on for next year. Kirsten and I spent most of this week at the largest fruit and vegetable conference in the Northeast learning about everything from what others are doing for weed control in onions, to new varieties of lettuce. Seed companies are even developing square lettuce for the sandwich makers...
We are looking forward to improved systems for squash storage, better sweet corn varieties to allow us to grow more of it, and to trying some different organic strawberry growing techniques in 2020.
