Strike Farms is pleased to introduce you to our new subscription manager - India! India was raised in Jackson, WY and moved to Bozeman in 2016 to take a job as ranch hand at an organic sheep operation. She wanted to work in agriculture and still live in the mountains, making Bozeman an ideal place to settle.
India studied International Relations in college and thought that she would become an international superstar in diplomacy and global mediation, but sometime during her senior year she became immersed in the literature surrounding the difficulties of our food system. Captivated by the issues involved in the health of our soil, our environment, and ourselves, India shifted that global lens to address how we better grow our food at home.
After leaving the sheep ranch she worked as a consultant for the Slow Money Institute, a Colorado-based non-profit that generates sources of capital for local food enterprises and organic farms, and connects investors to the communities where they live. That work exposed her to the transformative power and energy when smart, passionate individuals get together to address common issues around food.
India loves gathering in community spaces with farmers, producers, food entrepreneurs and anyone interested in fostering a better food system. And when she’s not thinking about all that stuff she’s out climbing, drinking skunky European beers, and sticking her nose in a book.
Say hi to her at India@strikefarms.com!
