Back again with lots of delicious summer vegetables! We have our first week of carrots - yeah! They've been a bit slow to size up for some unknown reason and are still a bit on the small size but are delicious nonetheless. We also have the first of the fresh summer red onions. Perfect for summer salads, these red onions add a not-too-spicy bite to your meals. We are also fully restocked on L'Ancetre cheeses and Pfennings sweet potatoes. Also, there is some fun fresh turmeric root and a limited number watermelons from Pfennings this week too! And last but not least, we have organic sweet corn from Fair Fields Farm.
We had a lovely soaking rain (and thankfully missed the worse of the storm weather) which I know are crops are going to appreciate. I see lots of winter squash starting to size up and the potatoes love a good rain to get to full size. I also see the first blush of colour on the bell peppers and roasting peppers. They aren't quite ready but should be making an appearance fairly soon.
