Meet Jonathan Parker
Jonathan lives in the Pigeon Roost community of northern Mitchell County. He uses noncertified organic methods to produce leafy greens, corn, squash, tomatoes and beans. He lives entirely off-grid, using solar and wind for power. The road to his farm is passable only by ATV or by foot. "It's peaceful up here," he says with a calm smile, "I can feed a lot of people from this place." Jonathan grew the lettuce in this week’s shares.
