A warm howdy to our spring subscribers, and a fresh welcome to any summer newcomers!
We're thrilled to see some fruit in this week's bag with fresh strawberries from Bearwallow Valley Farm in Fruitland, NC. These are the first we've seen come out of WNC, and demand is high, so get them while you can! We'll have them through the next month or so, and will start offering gallons within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for them in the add-ons section when customizing your share.
And don't forget, there's lot's of add-ons currently listed, from milk, sausage, poultry, ferments, sorghum syrup, to quail and bantam eggs. Check it out!
A quick note on our whole chickens: The price may seem high for a whole chicken, but these are BIG (4-5lb), locally and sustainably raised chickens. They are also not pumped full of preservatives and liquids, like most wholesale poultry is. The price may appear higher per pound, but are not paying for water weight. Plus, you are getting a better tasting, local bird. Don't be chicken! Give one a try, you won't be disappointed. Better act fast before our staff eats them all up!
