Happy Friday, Farm-ily,
Welcome to the start of Winter CSA! As I write to you today, I find myself grateful for space heaters beneath desks, the company of Farm dogs, and the sun glinting off the silvery skins of the high tunnels where Collin and Lex are working. Most importantly, I am grateful for each of you. The Farm-ily brings us joy in all seasons; in the winter, when there is time for quiet reflection, I find myself in awe of the numbers of you that have come together in this diverse, vibrant suburban community full of choices and committed to filling your tables with local produce. This year especially, you have adapted to the changes we've made, and shared our food and our mission many times over with your own family and friends. You have grown the Farm-ily as surely as we have grown your food. We thank you, for joining us in our work and forging the community that unites us.
As we plan for the coming weeks harvest, we're also collecting our favorite recipes into a meal plan that we hope will inspire you as you make your own dishes. We'll still add individual recipes to our Pinterest page, and Harvie will continue to provide ideas and cooking tips linked to your share contents; this meal plan, however, will give you a big picture look at what we'll be preparing with this week's crops. Since your shares are customized, you may find that some recipes are better aligned with your box contents than others, but we'll include lots of options and variety each week. We'll also highlight recipes for the cuts in our meat shares, and some of the dry goods we have available as "extras".
