Farm-ily,
What a beautiful day to work for a CSA! Willowsford Farm feels like a whole new world here in the sunshine. Our seasonal crew has begun to report for duty, and morning meetings over coffee cover tasks in each field. From transplanting to watering, there's activity everywhere. Freshly hatched chicks are peeping in the barn; seeds have sprouted into the vegetables you'll be enjoying in just a few short weeks.
For those of you returning from past seasons, you already know that we coined the term Farm-ily because we like to think of our all our members as an extended family, connected by the Farm. "Know your farmer" is more than just a slogan or a hashtag! From the start, our mission has been to grow vegetables AND community. Our shareholders are the driving force behind every decision we make, including this year's updates to CSA.
In addition to the new options for customizing your shares, we now have a program in place to reward our current members for growing the Farm-ily by spreading the word about our Farm. On your Harvie member profile page, you'll see a menu option that says "Refer A Friend". Click here for a unique hyperlink that you can post to your social media, or send in an email, to invite your friends to join our Farm community. For each new member who uses your link to sign up for a Willowsford Farm share, you'll receive $25 in member credits for extra veggies... and so will they!
Remember, Willowsford Farm's CSA program is open to the general public, so your friends, family, and coworkers outside of the Willowsford neighborhoods are welcome to participate. We've also added a pick-up option in Leesburg (Thursday evenings at Chefscape Farmer's Market), making us convenient for more local eaters than ever before.
We're so eager for the beginning of the season and a chance to meet all our new Farm-ily members. Thank you for trusting us to nourish the people you love. It's a privilege to turn dirt, water, and sunshine into wholesome food for so many!
Eat well and be well,
Ashley, Collin, John, Lex, Nate, James, several hundred VERY noisy chicks, and a pack of Farm dogs with Spring fever
