Blazing hot and some of our cool weather crops are trying to hang on, but the color in the fields are just amazing! And what grows great in the heat? Watermelon of course - we are excited to be giving our members a personal size watermelon this week- we had to go ahead and pick all the ones ready before a pesky raccoon ate all of them. We also dug up potatoes from Row 7 Seeds called Upstate Abundance, so creamy. New sweet peppers hit the CSA this week too!
We have planted all the winter squash. A new round, new variety of summer squash will be ready soon. Okra is slowly growing, it has just been waiting on the extreme heat to hit.
