Things are keepin' on at the farm! And we are staying busy keeping up with the endless harvest of summer.
The tomatoes are finally in abundance, eggplant is coming on like crazy, we've got tons of colorful flowers, the tomatillos are screaming 'it's salsa verde season', we are officially getting tired of the 3x per week zucchini and cucumber harvest (but not quite tired of eating them yet!). And just yesterday to my immense excitement we discovered the hot peppers are ON!
Starting this week we will be offering mixed hot pepper bags great for making your own hot sauces or salsas or pickling and tossing on some tasty tacos or nachos! And small quantities orders of a few different varieties. This week we will have serrano peppers, poblano peppers (not too spicy), and shishito peppers (one in 10 is spicy).
I would highly recommend the shishitos! I like to blister them in a hot cast iron drizzle with oil and sprinkle with flakey salt and maybe a squeeze of lemon and they are perfect! Make for a fantastic appetizer at happy hour! (here is a simple recipe for that).
Thanks for enjoying the excitement, colors, and tastes of summer with us this season!
