Greetings ATG CSA members! This is a historic day for the farm, as it's the initiation of the first CSA delivery through the Harvie platform. We sincerely hope that this system offers convenience and ease for members to swap share contents, add extras and reschedule their shares for either an alternative pick up location or another week all together. You should have received a detailed email outlining some of the ins-and-outs of the Harvie system, so please take the time in the next day or two to read through those notes and links.
In general, we hope that this newsletter format will serve as a platform to connect you, the CSA member, more directly and intimately to the happenings of the farm. It has always been one of the farm's deepest held beliefs that food is sacred nourishment for the whole human being. In this time when our collective human experience is undergoing major shifts, that belief is brought into sharp focus. In this time when so many things seem unsure, feeling confident and secure that the food we eat is grown safely, regeneratively and with love seems essential. So, we hope that this newsletter will help tell the stories of the farm in order to connect you a bit more to the land and people who grow your food.
What a wild ride this spring has been! It roared in, warm and early in March, only to turn cool and rainy as the days have gotten longer. The plant life of the natural world is gaining so much vitality and momentum, as the Earth continues to breathe out, exhaling all the dreams of the long winter nights. There is so much unfolding and opening during this time on the farm, and we hope that this abundance resonates in your box of veggies.
You'll find a lot of salad ingredients in your shares this week, with sunflower shoots, head lettuce, spring mix, spring onions and much more. The farm worked hard to grow a diversity of crops for the spring CSA shares, so we hope your hearts and tummies sing when you open your first box!
Much love and happy eating,
Holly, Andy and the ATG Crew
