Farm Happenings for June 9, 2020

Posted on June 5th, 2020 by Agriberry Farm

Hi lovely farm share members,

This week's standard share consists of two units of blueberries and two of strawberries (unless your preferences are set otherwise).

We are rolling into week seven, and I must say I appreciate each and everyone of you for your patience and understanding as we faced some technical difficulties last week.

Everything is now worked out, and swaps can be made hassle free! I hope you all know that none of you are at fault for having issues. It was my mistake, and you all were very helpful and calm in reaching out with the orders that you preferred.

This week, we are adding early RED SWEET CHERRIES from Nelson County VA, SUGAR SNAP PEAS from Caroline County VA, Agriberry OAT BARS, and Stargell's HONEY to our extras. These may not be available as a swap, but you can add it in addition to your farm share.

Educational Opportunity: Berries of all sorts (strawberries, blueberries) are a perishable product. That being said, they need to be refrigerated to maintain freshness. For maximum duration of edibility, please keep your berries cool. We want you to be able to enjoy them for as long as you can! Here is an additional resource on how to keep your strawberries fresh.

This week, I am going to start enforcing the hard cut-off at 4:00 pm Monday evening for all swaps and changes made to shares. This makes it easier for our warehouse and marketing staff. Please make any necessary changes before this time. If you do want to make swaps after the deadline has passed, you can ask your market site manager at your pickup if they have any extras available with them.

One reminder I want to acknowledge here as we are getting more used to living in a pandemic... We CANNOT deliver to your car if all passengers are not wearing masks. This is a safety issue, and we want to make sure that we are continuing to maintain our distance as to not spread germs between one another.

I hope everyone is staying safe and well during these unprecedented times. Our strawberries are bursting in the fields as we wait for the raspberries to recover from the frost damage.

Thank you all for your loyal support and active communication. I am grateful for each and every one of you as much as I am grateful for Agriberry.

As always, reach out to me at csa@agriberry.com with any issues, comments, concerns, pointers, etc. I am the immediate point of contact, and I will respond as soon as possible.
