CSA Week 12 is here!
This week’s shares will be packed with fun summer crops- blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and new this week- beans!
We’ll have peas in the shares as well! This will be the last week for peas until next spring, so enjoy them and check out our website for tips on how to store them too!
For those if you who may not know- We have a huge archive of our recipes from previous weeks and seasons of CSA newsletters right on our website, alstedefarms.com. so if you’re wondering what to do with your share contents and are stumped, you can search by produce item and it will give you lots of great recipe options.
If you have a recipe that you’d like us to feature, you can always send it over to jenn@alstedefarms.com and you may even see your recipe in a future newsletter!
I also included a photo of our farm’s Model T from last weekend, we loaded it up with veggies and Farmer Kurt drove it through the July 4th parade with Karl. Every year I decorate the Model T for July 4th and sometimes also for Labor Day, and I’m always proud of the artistic display of our homegrown veggies making its way down the road for everyone to see. When it was originally built, the Model T Depot Hack would’ve been used to transport bulk items, but probably not displayed quite this way.
