I have some big news to share with you all. After two years of filling out a 30 page application, that once completed is about 1 to 1.5 inches thick, and spending at least a week every February staring at a computer screen, we received a letter from the KDA (Kentucky Department of Agriculture) informing us that Ashbourne Farms is now USDA Certified Organic!!! This has been one of the most challenging application processes that I have ever been through, and it is one that will have to be applied for every year, but it has paid off. Reading that letter from the KDA was the second most exciting thing to happen to me this week (Nothing is more exciting right now than my daughter "talking" in response to us talking to her. I love being a mommy!). Soon there will be emails and letter sent, and posts on social media to announce the good news, but I want to let you all know now!
