Hey Family!
Are you enjoying this beautiful weather we're having? It's almost officially springtime!
When the weather warms up, that makes it all the more exciting on the farm. It means more variety of local fruits and vegetables will be available to you.
As the soil blesses us and gives us more, we are able to bless and give you (our amazing customers) more. Anyone who order collards this week, will get extra! High in beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin K, Magnesium and Calcium, this popular green leafy vegetable, is a staple in southern cuisine. But have you tried making traditional collard greens without bacon? We love to lightly sauté our collards when garlic and onions, for 15 minutes, just until they are slightly tender. Then adding our favorite seasonings, salt, pepper and a squeeze of a half a lemon to cut the slight bitterness of the greens. It's a great addition to a meal when needing to add a quick source of fruits and vegetables.
Enjoy the delicious collards this week and the wonderful weather!
