This is my most favorite time of the year. The flowers are blooming, the weather is getting warmer, the sun is brighter, the trees and grass are getting green and the bees are buzzing. New life is starting. Here at Atlanta Harvest, we consider this time of the year as the New Year. This is an exciting time when we see everything around us is being renewed. The Dead Season is over and now it’s time for renewed life!
What we’re really excited about at the new Atlanta Harvest is the fruit orchard that we are building. The picture above shows a bee collecting nectar from a peach blossom on the farm. We also have mature muscadine vines, apple and pear trees on the property right now. We will be planting plums, blueberry, raspberry and blackberry bushes, pomegranates, olives, figs and persimmons. All different kinds of yummy delicious fruits that will be grown right here in Georgia and once they bear fruit will be available in your farm box. This labor of love may take years to come to fruition, but for the benefit of our community, it will be all worth it.
