Ahh.. The goats got out again!
Our beautiful Boer and Spanish goats always find a way to escape their large fenced area. Though they have plenty of pasture and space to roam around, they love to travel, and make sure to leave their mark.
This recent episode, Ahba fortified the fencing throughout the back area of the ranch and moved the goats there with plenty of food, water and space. Well, the goats were determined to forge their own path. They found a weak area in the fence, squeezed through and made their way to our neighbors, a couple acres over. I saw them frockling by their horses and exploring. Then as the sun started to set and they had decided they had enough and wanted to come home, they came right into the garage by the house and camped out until morning.
We woke up the next morning to goat poop scattered all over the garage. As you can imagine, I was not too keen on having goat poop so close to the house, especially in this quantity, but waking up to their little "Baaa"s and seeing them all huddled together laying on the floor of the garage, made it all worth it.
It's never a dull moment with these guys! I wouldn't trade it for the world.
P.S. Be sure to customize your boxes this week. A lot of the yummy goodies available at the Atlanta Harvest's market are now available to add to your weekly boxes! We have teas, kombucha, meat, coffee, cider and other wonderful treats!
