Peppers and Eggplant and Some Sad News

Posted on August 28th, 2024 by Adam Blaney

It is salsa season!

  • We've been filling up the jars with canned salsa this season. Hopefully you're finding fun ways to make best use of the abundance!

  • Some more peppers will be showing up today - jalapeños first, but more hot ones will be coming soon! Eggplants will also make their first appearance this week.
  • We also have some difficult news to share.  We were made aware this past week that Harvie, our CSA management software company we've used for so long, is closing its doors as of the end of this year. :( This was a total shock to us, and will seriously upend the way we operate CSA. We have been assured that Fall CSA will be unaffected, but as of yet, no one from Harvie has been available to help us get the season set up and running. You've probably been wondering when Fall CSA emails will arrive, as it is supposed to start in 2 weeks! :/ We are wondering that also! Hopefully, in the next few days we will get things up and running and we can at least get through to the end of the year.
  • What does this mean for you? In the short term, it might just mean that auto-renew for Fall CSA will be rather abbreviated. There won't be a 3 week lead-up to get you prepped, it may mean there will be just a couple days heads-up that we will be renewing you into Fall Season. So be watchful, to be sure you can adjust everything you need to in a timely manner.

  • Please be watchful for a survey from us, as it will tremendously help us in deciding what type of CSA offering to pursue. There are a few other options, and we'd love some feedback about what you like/dislike, and what kind of CSA you'd be willing to join in the future.

OK, I think that's it for now. Sorry for the bad news, but hopefully we will get something resolved and be able to continue to have this wonderful relationship with you wonderful people!

Have a great week!

Adam
