We've had a lot of rain on the farm in the past week. It's been really good for our crops but also really good for the weeds! We're looking forward to sunny days this week and will hopefully be able to tackle some weeding work soon. We continue to have a very small supply of asparagus and rhubarb and are excited to be offering 4 kinds of head lettuce, baby lettuce mix, spinach and arugula. We've been mixing all 4 kinds of head lettuce together in a large salad, topping with sunflower seeds and dried cranberries and dressed with a homemade apple cider vinaigrette.
Pre-ordering for pickup at the market is a great way to get exactly what you want in your share, get products that we have a small supply of (like asparagus!), and to quickly get in and out of the market. Here's how it works.
- We make an educated guess on what we will have available a few days before the market.
- You'll get an email saying farm stand shares are available.
- Harvie builds a share for you. You can always remove items or add more of a particular item.
- Once you complete your share Harvie will let us know and we'll put it together for you for pickup at the Mankato Farmers Market!
- Pickup your share between 8a and noon on Saturday at the Mankato Farmers Market from our market booth.
