We pick our first slicing tomatoes for you this week and also the first pole beans of the year. Artichokes are on this week's list as well. These edible thistles are a crop we don't often grow, but some mysterious horticultural whimsy made us do some this year. We have been busy preparing ground for our fall plantings of greens and roots. It's always an add realization that the crops we are planting now, during this hottest time of year, will not mature until fall, perhaps after the first fall frost. Our 13th week of harvest, with another 17 to go; we are not quite half way through the season. Thanks for joining us for this edible journey. ~ Mike, Kim, and Crew

About the farm
Cedarville Farm is a mid sized mixed vegetable farm, cultivating gravelly and fertile soil near Nugent's Corner, 12 miles NE of Bellingham. We grow our crops organically, maintaining soil health with the use of animal, plant, and rock based fertilizers and cover crops. We offered the first CSA north of Seattle in 1992 and have never stopped packing boxes and loving this way of linking local consumers with local farms.
