It's salsa time! The veggie shares have all the ingredients for fresh salsa - chop tomatoes, onions, peppers, garlic - add a little lime juice, salt and pepper and you've got it. You can get all the filling for tacos from our Extras list, ground beef or sausage, cheese, and all the veggies - look for the email on Wednesday then place your order by Friday.

We're also coming into the height of fruit season here in Maine and we're excited to be able to offer bulk blueberries for purchase from Burke Hill Farm. The are a MOFGA Certified Organic farm in Cherryfield Maine and we are excited to be working with them. We are selling bulk 5lb boxes, that fit perfectly in your freezer for $24. This is a great way to stock up for the winter or have an excuse to make a blueberry pie or two! To order for the delivery next week (8/20), please email us at farmers@daybreakgrowersalliance.com and we'll add you to the list! We will add the charge to your Harvie account for you. As long as the berries hold up we will have these bulk boxes available for the next two weeks. Please order in 5lb increments only. The past few years we have offered 10lb boxes, this year we are only able to get the 5lb boxes so get two of these if you feel like you want the same amount of berries as you've gotten in the past.
Update from Misty Brook Farm
All the boys (Brendan, Alister, John, and William) are in the combine. This is what William has been waiting for all year! The combine is his favorite machine. The rye will be sold as cover crop seed and whole rye flour.
We've been busy moving fence and keeping all our critters moving across the pastures. Everyone gets moved to fresh pasture at least once a day and the milking flerd (flock/herd) get moved up to four times per day! Sweet grass and clover makes the sweetest milk and meat!
