Update from Hall Brook Farm
As the seasons shift from summer to fall we are quite busy at Hall Brook Farm. Like most farmers a lot of our crops have been impacted by the dry weather, all things considered the fall carrots and cabbage look great. If we get some rain our fall bunched greens will really take off providing fresh greens late into the fall. As we move into the cooler months we are busy cleaning out greenhouses planting winter greens, putting fields to rest with cover crops. This fall we have a few exciting projects as we are growing our infrastructure. Projects this fall include two new high tunnels to provide more local food through the winter months as well as a new packing house to help comply with new food safety regulations and make our operation more efficient.
