Update from Crooked Face Creamery
The beginning of 2021 marked an exciting start to the year for Crooked Face Creamery, receiving national recognition by winning a Good Food Award for their herbed Ricotta. and also being featured in a photo essay in Culture Magazine, the ultimate publication devoted to the world’s cheeses and cheesemakers.
It’s been a busy few years for Crooked Face, having scaled up and moved their creamery and new retail shop to downtown Skowhegan in the old Somerset County Jail, also home to Maine Grains and other local businesses. The company is increasing Whole Milk Ricotta production to meet the demands of online and retail sales, distributors, and larger wholesale markets like Whole Foods. Crooked Face Creamery's goal for 2021 is to refine and develop the aged cheese line, specifically a Havarti-style cheese, Buttercup, and Raclette-style, Bonfire. Look for these new cheeses, as well as the old favorites, like the artisan cheese curds, gouda style cheese, pressed herbed and smoked Ricotta’s, all among the selection offered in the Daybreak Grower's CSA’s this season!
