With the start of autumn we have delicious winter squash and cabbage at the same time as peppers, tomatoes, greens and herbs! All the best of the season is available to swap or add into your boxes – we are so grateful to all of our farmers who've planted, tended and harvested all of these crops this season! Stock up on beets, carrots and tomatoes, available 10lb. bulk. Basil, sage, thyme, lemon balm, lemon verbena and mint, available 1lb. bulk. The apples are being harvested and delivered too – Cortland and Honeycrisp available for boxes this week. You'll find new cheeses from Sonnental Dairy, unpasteurized cow milk aged over 60 days. Update from Crooked Face Creamery
We just attended the Maine Cheese Festival and won 3rd place for our Garlic Rosemary Ricotta and honorable mention in Best in Show at the Maine Cheese Guild Cheese Awards. We were also just featured in Stacy’s FoundHer campaign featuring women business owners – part of their Rise Project – they chose our garlic rosemary Ricotta to pair with their chips! We’ve hired a new creamery assistant, Marsha Bard, a Winslow native who has a long history in local food production and farming. The creamery is currently shifting gears to start more aged cheese production over the fall, specifically our Buttercup Havarti and the Bonfire Raclette washed in a local Juniper Pale Ale. And on a side note, due to the growth in the creamery, we are finally in the position to build a house and barn on my piece of land on our family farm.
