We have had some excitement on the farm over the last week. Our Old English Game hen had made a safe little nest in our wood pile. She was safe from the elements so we decide to leave her on the nest to see what develops. 21 days later and we have 6 beautiful baby chicks. Now we are on edge watching the baby chicks being raised by their mother. When raising young chicks you have a very controlled environment, everything is in our control. With little Momma nothing is in our control. I worry about them being warm enough, are they eating enough, has she shown them where to get water? It has been almost 4 days since they emerged from the wood pile and so far the worrying has been for nothing. Little Mamma has been a wonderful mother and the chicks are doing amazing.
