It has been great to welcome a bit of heat these past few days! The crops are really loving it that's for sure!
This week the first of the kohlrabi will be going into some shares! Kohlrabi tends to prefer cooler temperatures...we would have had it sooner if we didn't have to rearrange our entire spring crop plan this season!! My favourite way to eat it is in a slaw type salad with apples. It's great grilled on the BBQ, roasted, stir-fried or sliced thinly in a lettuce salad too. It's crisp texture adds a delicious crunch!
A tip about your preferences:
The allocation scheme in Harvie works well when there are obvious differences between the veggies rated high and low. For example, if you know you'd like to receive beets in the next few weeks try increasing their rating and decreasing the ratings on some other items. Making an item, the beets in this case, stand out above the rest will help the system know that you really want them!
