Peppers and Melons and Armenian Cucumbers... OH MY!

Greetings Farm Fans -

It seems like every day our farmers are surprising me with new produce item listings!  New this week:

Pioneer Farms is harvesting: Banana Peppers - these are a mix of Lightning and Pimento varieties that range from mild to medium hot.  Lone Pine Chileno Peppers - a heirloom variety made famous as pickled peppers from Bruno's (these are a truly Nevadan pepper), Red Torpedo onions - though Farmer Scott says they look less like a "torpedo" and more like an "atomic bomb", White Cipollini onions, Sweet Walla Walla onions - again Farmer Scott says this is the best crop of walla walla's that he has ever grown, and Shishito peppers!

Lattin Farms is picking the first cantaloupes - we have a limited amount of Sarah's Choice - the all around favorite consumer melon, and Sugar Cube - a smaller, sweeter, personal-size breakfast cantaloupe.  Farmer Rick is also offering the first Armenian Cucumbers of the season - if you haven't given these a try, they are my husbands personal favorites! And Mrs. Lattin has authorized me to offer some of their extremely limited first harvest of asian eggplant.

Fisk Farms has listed tomatillos, Desert Farming Initiative has their first Golden Beets, and the Boggeri's are listing white nectarines and white peaches.

We sure are excited about the variety of produce we have available this week - and we hope that you are too!

Thank you for your support of Nevada farmers!
