It's amazing what difference a week makes!
We are rolling in tomatoes! In fact, Lattin Farms in harvesting SO MANY TOMATOES that we have a special offer this week for all of you canners and salsa fans! For as long as supplies last, you can add a 20# case of salsa/canning tomatoes to your order for $35. These might not be the prettiest tomatoes, but they are packed with flavor and will make one heck of a marinara!
Also in the add-ons, we have a special PESTO STARTER PACK! Our friends at Two Ravens Ranch are offering this kit which comes with a 1 gallon bag stuffed with basil and a head of their AMAZING garlic!
The Fallon Melon Man (Pioneer Farms) is offering his first Pioneer Cantaloupes of the season! He keeps the particular varietal a secret (and seed-saves each year) - these beauties are sweet, creamy, and delicious.
We are at a pivot-point in the season - you will start to see more nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers) and cucurbits (cucumbers, squash, and melons). Greens and herbs are still continuing strong - though we are light on kale this week as DFI is moving into the next bed from their succession planting.
