What's Happening?!?!

Posted on January 13th, 2020 by Mattie Serna

Hello Farm Fans!

Greetings from all of us in Fallon!

This week we are happy to highlight a wide variety of leafy greens from Farmer Ron and Farmer Scott!  Harvest day on Thursday is expected to be quite windy in these parts so you will want to give your produce an extra thorough rinse before eating!  That's one of the downsides of farming in the desert--sand!

We have been excitedly preparing for the annual Nevada Farms Conference!  This year, there are a number of pre-conference workshops and conference seminars that are fascinating even for non-farmers!  Anyone can register to participate so if you are interested in learning more about farming in Nevada please check out the website HERE!  We have scheduled workshops where you can learn how to ferment foods and beverages, how to make cheese, and even hands-on experiences butchering pigs and lambs!  The annual conference has great information for home gardeners as well!

We are approaching the launch of our 2020 spring & summer season for the Great Basin Basket Farm Share!  I know it seems like summer is on the distant horizon--especially as temperatures drop!  But the time is going to fly!  With the introduction of HARVIE as our farm share partner, we have added automatic-renewal to the program.  Expect to see a series of emails beginning next week with information about your renewal.  You have control over your pickup location, delivery options, and your payment plan for your subscription this summer--you can opt out of auto-renewal as well if you so choose.

We hope that this email finds you rested and eager for more delicious local produce!

Thank you for your support of local farms!
