We made a big dent in our sweet potato harvest this week! They've been curing in the greenhouse all week and are ready to hit your boxes this week - yay! Many other fall crops are back in full force like radishes, turnips, and bok choi. We did little else besides harvesting and delivering produce this week - clean up looms in our future, but it just hasn't taken precedent when big harvests are still underway. We're enjoying our time together as a crew and getting lots done. Couldn't ask for anything more! Check out more news and recipes in the newsletter this weekend.
Farm Happenings for September 30, 2020
About the farm
Good Dog Farm is a 25-acre vegetable farm in Upperco, Maryland. We are a Certified Naturally Grown farm and use beyond organic growing practices. By farming with the health of our land and customers as our guide, we ensure you the highest quality and safest produce. We use sustainable growing practices to protect our soil and waterways. We supply our customers in the Baltimore and DC regions with delicious, nutritious food that’s always fresh.
We founded the farm in June of 2016. We grow vegetables year-round thanks to our two high tunnels. Our farm provides a diversity of crops for our Community Supported Agriculture program plus wholesale quantities of unique varieties of storage crops like potatoes, winter squash and sweet potatoes.
Our name comes from our shared love of our three dogs, who remind us to live simply and have fun every day.
