A hot July day deserves a cool drink. Order mint and make Minted Lemonade or a Mint Julep. Mint Drinks Each drink is based on Simple Syrup, which is made by boiling 2-cups of sugar with 1-cup of water. You can keep this in the refrigerator until needed.
Lemonade 1 serving
- 2 Tablespoons simple syrup
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 5 Mint leaves
Crush mint leaves into syrup mixture using spoon or muddler. Add 1-cup water and lemon juice. Mix and pour over ice. Add a long sprig of mint prior to serving.
Mint Julep 1 serving
- 2 teaspoons simple syrup
- 5 mint leaves
- 1 jigger (1.5 oz) bourbon
- 1 oz whiskey
Crush mint leaves into syrup using a spoon or muddler. Add 1 jigger (1.5 ounces) bourbon and mix. Pour over a glass of crushed ice and add 1 oz whiskey 9or more bourbon). Stir. Add a long sprig of mint prior to serving.
