FIRST Autumn Share of the Season!

 First week of Fall Season CSA shares is here!  Welcome, welcome welcome!  ALSO, WE HAVE LOCAL APPLES THIS WEEK!  It truly is the MOST amazing time of year! In terms of veggies, we have a great mix of the last push of summer and the early flushes of fall.  Winter squash that are ready for distribution (squashes take different amounts of time to cure and sweeten) are a great boon in this week's share, as are a huge push of the last of field peppers.  We've got peppers coming out our ears as we rescue as many as we can by the weekend's anticipated frost.  That means mixed large bags of ALLLL the sweet peppers; green, purple, striped, red, and yellow in all shapes and sizes, plus shishitos, snacking peppers, and hot peppers.  Enjoy them while they are here, 'cause we'll miss them when they are gone.  Our full size tomatoes are mostly done, as we make room in our tunnels for the winter greens that will sustain us through May, but our cherries are still popping along, so look for cherry tomatoes available to swap into your shares this week.  

 If you are new to the CSA with this fall season, there are a few critical things to know:

1) You will receive your pick-up information via email before your first share, around Monday for public sites.  Please be sure to note the address, details, and time of your pick-up information ahead of time and be sure to pick-up within the pick-up window.  If you have any questions at all, please contact the farm at farmers@harvesttideorganics.com or (207) 449-7274.  

2) Your window to swap and add items to your box is tonight around 7PM (when you get your customization email) until Sunday at 7PM.  Please do all swapping and adding in this window as Mondays and Tuesday are crazy on the farm and we cannot guarantee any swaps or adds (or rescheduling for that matter) after that window.  If you would like a refresher on how to swap you can use this handy guide:  SWAP GUIDE and of course you can contact the farm either by email at farmers@harvesttideorganics.com or by phone at (207) 449-7274.   Our weekends are full of family and general busy-ness just like you, but we work hard to get back to ALL time sensitive emails over the weekend to assure your swaps and answer any questions you have!

3) Here is a friendly reminder of our payment plan and how it works, as every season we get LOTS of questions about this:  

• 25% due at sign-up - If you want to purchase our Regular Autumn Vegetable Share @ $160, at signup the cost will be $40

• 25% due the first week of deliveries + 1st weekly payment  - It's the first week of our CSA, and your share is on the way (yay!) Your card will be charged $40 (the 25%) + $20 (see below!) for a grand total of $60

• 50% paid weekly in automatic payments through the season - The remainder of your share price ($80) is divided by the 4 delivery of our fall veggie share which comes out to $20.00/delivery. That's what will be deducted from your account each week until the last deliver of the Fall Share.

• *This same payment plan applies to any add-on shares that you have ordered for the season*
