Well, better late then never seems to be the theme for the fall! The sprint to the finish line is here, and although mother nature has been kind I know it won't last! The days are filled with harvesting either for orders, or for storage, either way we start with the sunrise at 7am and finish in the dark at 8 or 9pm. So far the first section of beets are in there are no more squash left in the field for the frost! WE are hoping that today sees the last of the potatoes in from the field, and a CSA and market day harvest fulfilled!
If anyone wants to come out for a workout, volunteers are welcome to help bring in the winter harvest, and could lead to a few daysss work this fall....the guys that make this farm work, and sacrifice 6 months of their lives to spend in Canada, while there families are home are hoping to leave by the 15th of October, they will stay if needed but in these crazy times we are really pushing to see if we can make it happen for them and their families.
Turkeys -Place your orders before next Wednesday the 6th of October, as we are picking them up Thursday! They are free range and fed GMO free feed, and cost 4.10$/lbs. They weigh 12 to 20lbs. Please call or text 905-986-9612
The Thanksgiving feast available this week courtesy of the incredible season we have had could include! Mixed sweet peppers, butternut squash, pie pumpkins, Prima Orchard Apples, potatoes, carrots, beets, celeriac, Brussel sprouts, sage, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, onions, parsley, parsnips, arugula, tomatoes, garlic, the list goes on...
It is so exciting to be celebrating the harvest next weekend, the farm even takes a pause on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend and the crew enjoys a feast from our fields, while appreciating all the hard work that goes into growing the food that feeds the world...
Winter CSA Sign Up- Spread the word our Winter CSA sign up is open, the baskets start October 23rd! We will have a drop of in Peterborough, Prince Albert, and it seems a lot are interested in a Lindsay drop off happening, and we will have on farm pick ups!
Summer 2022 Sign Up- Auto Renew will happen mid October and will automatically include your 25$ discount! After the current members who get preferred first come first serve are signed up, we will open the Summer 2022 sign up to the public!
