MPT came to the farm this week to film some intros for their show MD Farm and Harvest. I was part of a show a few years ago and they have kept in touch. They asked to use the farm as a backdrop and we said SURE. We like to share the farm. It was a busy day, with lots of film crew moving around, lots of vehicles parked everywhere...we were asked to be quiet more than once moving through our work day, lol. All in all it was a productive day for them and we were satisfied to have donated the farm for a day in support of good public television!
WE have lovely hakurei turnips and boy choi this week along with hot peppers, winter squash, potatoes and lots of arugula! The spinach is coming in, you'll see it soon and the lettuce is making a comeback with some salad mix this week.
Please plan on coming to the farm for our Harvest Party Saturday, October 19th-it's a great afternoon of chili and other seasonal, local fare made by you and your like minded CSA family. Meet the farmers, take a tour and enjoy live music! Bring a dish to share (chili or whatever you like!), chairs, blankets and a friend who might be interested in joining our 'farmily'. Looking forward to seeing you here!
Sign up for the Fall share now if you're interested. It's filling up fast!
Thanks for being a part of Oak Spring Farm. We love to grow for you!
